How does d2 Dura Grating differ from other GRP grating?

Popular across the globe, d2 Dura Grating can be applied in all industries where Glass Reinforced Polymer (GRP) mesh grating is used today. With a unique patented design, it has a high strength-to-weight ratio, anti-slip surface, and is well-suited to extreme weather temperatures.

We have developed a whole range of GRP grating products to suit a number of application requirements – each ranging in mesh size, resistance and price, and all offering outstanding safety, performance and durability. They’re also more cost-effective than traditional GRP grating in almost every scenario and require little to no maintenance over the course of their long life-cycle

Our GRP grating products are cleverly engineered to be up to 33% lighter than other GRP grating, making them easy to handle, and reducing installation times and labour requirements. By using less material, our recyclable GRP grating products have lower embodied carbon. and are backed by third-party verified Environmental Product declarations (EPDs). Standard Mesh Grating

d2 Dura Grating Standard Mesh is our most cost-effective open mesh flooring solution and suits a wide range of projects providing excellent bidirectional mechanical properties. It comes with a reassuring 25-year warranty. 

Our Standard Mesh is a versatile product that supports a wide range of projects providing reliability, durability and a long design life. This aesthetically-pleasing design comes in 3  colours; Dark Grey, Yellow and Green. 

Our light, strong and non-corrosive Standard Mesh is available in 26mm, 38mm and 50mm thicknesses and can be supplied with a full range of stainless steel clips, clamps and hold down fixings to suit all situations.

Mini Mesh Grating

d2 Dura Grating Mini Mesh has all the benefits of our d² Standard Mesh grating but with a smaller open mesh area depending on panel thickness. The smaller holes of this product prevent objects such as screws, nuts and bolts from falling through, and the aperture sizes comply with BS 4592 and the 20mm Ball Fall Test. 

The unique patented design allows for improved visual inspection of the substructure below. d² Dura Grating Mini Mesh is available in 35mm, 45mm and 55mm thickness in Dark Grey, Yellow and Green. It is also available in 23mm thickness with a 13mm hole size in Dark Grey and Sand.

Solid Top Grating

d2 Dura Grating Solid Top is a great choice for situations where no light transmittance, drainage or visual inspection of the area underneath the grating is required. The anti-slip properties and clever high-spec gritted surface of our GRP solid flooring provides higher opacity values than open mesh grating and the solid surface prevents all objects and debris from falling through. Available in 29mm, 41mm and 53mm thicknesses in Dark Grey only. Other colours are available by special order. 

Our Solid Top mesh grating is lightweight with an extremely good anti-slip walking surface, suitable for wheeled trolleys or equipment often used in loading and storage areas. One of the key benefits of Solid Top fibreglass grating is the exceptional breaking strength under lateral force. The uni-directional continuous fibreglass reinforcement offers numerous advantages including rigidity, shock resistance, with no permanent deformation after overloading.

Micro Mesh Grating

Our Micro Mesh GRP grating features an anti-slip surface with a finer grit which is ideal for water sports facilities and recreational areas. The 10.5mm x 10.5mm open mesh prevents virtually all objects from falling through and is suitable for a wide range of footwear and sporting equipment. d2 Dura Grating Micro Mesh is available in Dark Grey as standard, with Sand and other colours available via special order. Minimum order quantities apply. If your project requires access ramps, 23mm Micro Mesh can be easily combined with other heavy grit products in the range. 

We have exclusively designed a fixing to work seamlessly with the 23mm Micro Mesh. Our Micro Dome comes in a clever Dark Grey colour that blends into the Dark Grey grating seamlessly for that smooth finish if you’re looking to hide the fixings.

Our Most Advanced Anti-Slip Surface Ever: Tested to Over 1 million Footfalls

We’re committed to evolving our innovative product range to ensure that our customers experience unrivalled performance from their composite materials. 

That’s why we’ve re-engineered d2 Dura Grating to deliver our best ever anti-slip surface. 

Our unique high specification composition has been rigorously tested (in accordance with BS 7976-2:2002+A1:2013) and achieves ultra-low slip potential in both wet and dry conditions. 

Not all tests are the same. We’ve invested heavily in advanced testing, ensuring that our test conditions simulate the effects of 3 months’ worth of pendulum testing, to assess the long-term performance and durability of our products. 

Under this testing, our d2 Dura Grating achieved an incredible score of 62 in the wet (against the low slip threshold of just 36), making it ideal for almost all flooring conditions. 

And what’s more, the low slip potential of the surface was proven to reduce by a mere 5% after an incredible 1.1 million footfalls, so you can have peace of mind in the safety of your heavy-duty flooring product for your specific application, whether it’s public sector or private sector.

Fire Safety: Designing out the Risk

We’re committed to helping ensure that you choose the most appropriate product for your specific fire safety project needs. Designing out the risk will ensure that your building project will safely comply with current and future building regulations.

d2 GRP Dura Grating flooring achieves a classification of Bfl s1, meaning very limited contribution to fire, with low smoke emissions. 

BS EN 13501-1:2018 was published on 14th January 2019. It provides the reaction to fire classification procedure for all construction products, including products incorporated within building elements.  

The process for classification under this standard involves a combination of up to five rigorous tests designed to assess the product on a range of characteristics, including combustibility, heat levels, flame spread and smoke release. Once tested, the product receives an official classification of its fire rating, known as a Euroclass rating. 

From best performing to worst performing, the Euroclass system is: A1, A2, B, C, D, E and F. It also provides additional classification (typically associated with reaction to fire classes D – B) for smoke production (from s1 (little or no smoke) to s3 (substantial smoke).
